Description

Edward enlisted to the army on November 35th, 1940. He was part of the Medical Detachement of the Texas National Guard, and he fought in Italy as a part of the 36th Division. He and one other soldier were separeted from their unit for several days after the Battle fof Salerno during Operation Avalanche. After that, he was hospitalized in a hospital in North Africa and later sent back to the States to recover.

He was awarded a Purple Heart Medal.
