He enlisted to the army on October 26th, 1942, in Iowa. First he served in Brazil. Later, he got missing in action on his way to China. Later announced safe - "Parachuted from Plane into jungle, where he lived 2 weeks on berries and fish, later found and fed by the natives and returned to post.
He is buried at Springfield National Cemetery, Springfiels, MO.
