Joe Duba attended grade school in District 120 to the eighth grade. He married Sylvia Dvorak in 1941 and joined the army in February 1942. He was reported missing on August &th 1944 and was a German war prisoner for nine months. He was released in April 1945. He was hospitalized in Cambridge, England, for about six weeks and arrived back to the U.S. on June 20th 1945. Joe was honorably discharged in October 1945.
