Description

He registred for the army on June 30, 1942, and enlisted on March 4th, 1943. He was deployed to the combat in December 1944. He got missing in action on 30th January 1945, when leading a rocennaissance patrol in the vicinity of Rollesbroich, Germany, when he was hit by heavy enemy's fire and his unit could not retrieve his body, and he was declared Killed in Action. His remains were identified on February 26th, 2018.

Awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Campaign Medal & World War II Victory Medal.

He was honored on Tablets of the Missing at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium, The World War II Memorial at the West City Hall, the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., the 8th Air Force Museum at Barksdale AFB, LA, and the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, LA. He was buried in his hometown on June 23rd, 2018.

He also has a burial site at West Brethen Cemetery in West, TX.
