Description

He enlisted on 23rd January 1941, went through training in Camp Bowie and was sent to Africa in April 1943. He was present during Operation Avalanche in Salerno and then fought in the Battle of Rapido River. He was injured on 3rd February 1944 during the Battle of Monte Cassino and received the Purple Heart Medal.
