She attended La Fayette and Rice Basic School in Chicago. Then she continued her studies at Austin High School (currently Austin Community High School). She received scholarship at University of Chicago where she graduated in 1922. After she received another scholarship at New York International Education Institute and she was sent as an exchange student at Charles University in Prague where she got her Ph.D. in natural sciences. When in Prague, she got involved with American community in Prague. She decided to return to Chicago, she arrived back to the U.S. on September 11th 1931. She was active in the Slovak community.
She was one of the first who joined newly established Women's Army Auxiliary Corps with a rank of Aviation Cadet. She was sent for training to Fort des Moines, Iowa, where on 1ts September 194? received rank of Second Lieutenant. She Chief of Well-being Branch as 1st Officer in WellBeing Division of WAAC.
