Description

He joined the army on October 1st 1938.

He was wounded two times. He was severely injured for the first time on February 29th 1944 in Italy and he was awarded the Purple Heart and two Oak Leaf Clusters. Later he was injured in France on October 22nd 1944 and he was awarded Oak Leaf Clusters.

He was captured by Germans on 15th March 1945 and liberated on 27th April 1945.
