Description

Svrcek enlisted to the army on February 6th, 1941. He served at Southwest Pacific Theatre, Phillippine Islands, during WWII. He took part in Battle of Corrigedor in May 1942, when he was taken Japanese prisoner on May 7th. First information said that he is somewhere on Phillippines. e was later held in Tokyo POW Camp (Shinkuju) in Tokyo Bay Area. He was liberated on October 15th, 1945.
